Marvin Lopez Alvizures
…attended California State University, Long Beach, majoring in public relations and minoring in sociology. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California by immigrant parents, Marvin is grateful for his upbringing and credits this as the reason for his strong compassion for others and his broad perspective on life.
As a first-generation college student, Marvin embodies the definition of perseverance. He earned his AA degrees in journalism and communications before switching to public relations while at Long Beach. He made the switch to public relations once he learned that it offered him the opportunity to combine story-telling with relationship-building. His goal is to create mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics while inspiring others with his strong work ethic.He plans to achieve this by being transparent and by being a reliable teammate.
Marvin has a love for all things sports, music, fashion and would love the opportunity to work in any of these industries during his career. He takes pride in being able to hold a conversation with anyone, no matter what the topic consists of. He believes strongly in positivity and how contagious it can be. He is grateful for every new day given to him that grants him the opportunity to learn something new and to become a better person. In his opinion, the glass is not half-empty or half-full, it is overflowing.
